That sounds like a really promising approach, I agree. I hope they work out! I don't know how familiar you are with perfume oils in particular, but common advice in BPAL circles: scents can be kind of "raw" immediately after shipping, and some improve drastically with age (as well as being affected by skin chemistry, etcetera). Base notes (resins, musks) generally like to age, while top notes (including florals) can disappear over time.
Blood Kiss is INTENSE. I like it okay, but wear only the smallest amounts and only in cold weather, or it gets kind of cloying. I feel like '90s New Age shop is a reoccurring thing in the brand, and I'm not super mad about it personally; their clove and patchouli can definitely tend that way.
May you enjoy carnation! I feel like it's a pretty atypical floral, which is probably why I will wear that and not other florals, and why I feel like the least qualified person for recommending floral scents. But I've loved it forever, and I feel like BPAL does it pretty well.
