You've absolutely nailed what makes Burnett work, IMO. I'll put The Lost Prince on my TBR; I think I'd probably enjoy it.

Also hi, welcome, etc.! I don't normally post dozens of book reviews a week; I'm trying to catch up on my backlog before the end of the calendar year catches up to me.
