Ghost and Aaron: Master List | Next Update
You guys have no one to blame for this but yourselvesbut after a few folk actually enjoying my Sims 3 picspam, I feel free to post more Sims 3 pics now. ^_^ Mostly, though, I'm posting due to interesting and amusing events. But to begin at the beginning...
With, er, some pretty pictures! No, really, these are just pointless shots that I like but don't make for much in the way of a narrative.

Ghost learning chess, in the park, at night, after playing in the sprinkler.
He just keeps growing on me.
( +3 more. )
Meanwhile, things with Ghost and Aaron precede apace. It'd oddfor a while I was playing with very full households, so there would be more chance of, more variety in, inter-sim interactions. Then I dumped these two in a rundown house with nothing more exciting than a splintered foosball tableand they've proven to be endlessly entertaining. I finally took away almost all their cash (thank you, familyFunds cheat), so they're living off produce from Central Park's community garden and Ghost's part-time job. Aaron could pawn off the goods he steals, but they make too pretty a collection. They've developed a comfortable routine: Aaron makes messes, Ghost cleans them, and they occupy each other's hours in comfortable companionship. So:

We begin our story with Aaron, who is sort of a dick.
He's expanding to petty vandalism as well as petty theft.
Meanwhile, his klepto's trove has grown by a light fixture, flower vase, and second headstone.

See? Proceeding apace! Ghost got a job, Aaron stole another light, everyone played in the park sprinkler and was happy. And then AwesomeMod updated to support the 1.3 patch, so I downloaded the patch, updated AwesomeMod, beat myself over the head with my computer (the game-breaking problem turned out to be really small and easy to fix, but it was a pain in the ass to find), and then sent out to test the patch. There are reported problems with it, you see, so I figured I'd run a day or three on super-speed, sit back and watch for bugs, and then quit without saving.
Except the following day of complete autonomy was ... interesting. All I did was speed up and slow down timeI didn't even cancel actions. They made food, slept, peed, watched some crappy TV, played foosball, painted, each of the boys hanging out on different halves of the house and killing time. Then Ghost's image popped up on Aaron's queue, so I slowed time down to find:

Known issues with the 1.3 patch include everything from disappearing households to freezing and crashing, so there's a chance that the boys may lose all memory of their Very Odd, Unexpectedly Amorous Autonomous Day. But for now I've saved it to a new file and shall see where it goes. I initially had vague plans to leave these two to their own interpersonal ends and decide for themselves whether they were friends or lovers, but the new direction they've taken still came way out of left field. Not that I don't approve (although it is a bit odd to sit back and just watch the game like it were TV ... and still have it be nearly as interesting as player influence makes it), mind, but I am surprised.
