Nuthin' too special this time. With a house as full as Nika's a coherent narrative is harder, but I offer what I can: parent troubles, blossoming romance, kids growing up, and a bit of the pretty. We begin with Manson, who has become my unapologetic favorite (other than Nika, of course!):

Manson takes quickly to painting, and only wishes he were big enough to hold his mother's spare guitar.
He is also (and I can't believe I'm saying this, what with my opinion of kids) adorable on his little step stool.

Manson is a friendless C-student; Matson is better adjusted, but even she doesn't know what to make of her father.
She was able to beg a few bucks off of him, thoughso perhaps she can salvage that relationship after all.

But Manson has has yet even to speak to Billy.

Billy did, however, find time to work his charms on Nika... but I think she'll be able to resist him.
(I adore it when she breaks the fourth wall.)
Nika meet a guy, though! A not-unsalvagable young man came to repair the TV and they hit it off, so she invited him over on his personal time to get to know him better. He's sweet for a service NPC but, er:

His fashion sense leaves something to be desired. (Matson also has her doubts.)
We'll have to wait and see where that leads. Thusfar they're fine friends, but there's no chemistry.
And then, via a very graceful transition, the kids grew up to teens.

Manson came out with his father's hair and somewhat dated fashion sense. He also became a vegetarian. ^__^
Not bad, actually, and he cleaned up well. (Ironic that by my standards that means worn jeans and shaggy hair.)
He's a handsome lad, but he has a very distinctive (if difficult to photograph) nose.

The very first thing he did as a teen was pick up a guitar.

Matson grew up not long after, and was a mixed success: horrible clothing and her mother's hair, both easily fixable...
But her lower lip was just a bit odd, and that I caved and edited with Awesomemod's editsim.

I think she's lovely. Definitely her mother's get, but she has something unique about her too...
And she's also turning out a bit devious: friendly, but opportunistic; perhaps secretly evil.

But. Yes. See? Pretty.
Matson made honor roll while Manson had a miserable time at school. Nika finished a novel or three, including Billy's bibliography (how I'd love to read that); Dakota finally made sous chef, and:

Nevera became the lead singer in her band, and rocked out to celebrate.

And then Manson finally made a friend his own age.
(He and Nika are still close, but other friends would be healthy for him.)
Her name is Sarah Silverton; she just moved to town to live with her relatives, the Goth family. Is it a coincidence that she's a bit of a goth herself? Probably not. I think she's quite adorable and I wanted more breeding material around just in case I feel the urge to play further with genetics. She and Manson have already become fast friends (she's quite likable, and they're both artsy and veggie) and:

Ah, young loveor at least the first inklings thereof.
(Thus Manson becomes the first apparently-heterosexual male in my neighborhood.)
It's wonderful that something in his life is finally going well..

Because everything else, not so much.
He finally had his first conversation with Billy, and they spend the whole time arguing about conflicting traits.

And Nevera and Manson continue to have a troubled relationship.
As he grows older, she become more fond of himeven proud, because he's becoming a skillful musician and she admires that. But she also belittles him, and so each time their relationship improves she drags it down again. They still hold grudges against each other, originating from the very fact that Manson exists when perhaps Nevera ought not have had a childwhich, as it goes, is a pretty fundamental issue. (For the curious: Matson and Dakota are good friends, but Dakota doesn't do much motheringMatson is driven to succeed in school and in social situations entirely by her own force of will. Nika and Matson have become friendly; Nika no longer acts as a parent to Manson, but has become something of an older sibling and they remain close. And Nevera and Dakota have mostly let water pass under the bridge, and are on speaking terms again.)

And so Manson is a social misfit and wears a constant expression of worry...
...and I think he is entirely adorable, the poor thing.

Speaking of misfits...
In the image of her creator: Nika forgoes pants.
Random pretty pictures this go around:

Oh no Nevera, not you too...
I set up a quick photo studio (sims trapped in a box = amusing).
So have a few entirely random, just pretty, photos:

Nevera, rocking out.

Nika, expressive. As a general rule the folks in this house animate well, but Nika and Dakota in particular are fantastic.
(Better bigger.)

Nika sometimes takes off her glasses and lets down her hair (to sleep)...
...it makes a remarkable difference.
