juushikaMy thoughts feel somewhere else today, and pulling them into the present renders them fragmented and unfocused. That leaves me with little patience for big things, but little repetitive task like editing pictures I can manage. So I finally have hair spam. I'm tempted to put it in a locked post because it feels strange to plaster my boyshirt-and-pj clad body all over the internet, but I'll flatter myself and say I've looked worse in photos.

For those that don't know, I have red hair and I've been growing it out long for a many years now. My terminal length used to be just below bra strap, but some time ago, once I started treating me and my hair better, it began to exceed that. Now it's proving to exceed all expectations, and has become, well, quite long. I protect my hair by washing it once a week, air drying, only brushing when dry, using a wide-toothed comb or a boar bristle brush, and keeping it up, especially when I sleep. It is my pride and joy.
I usually wear my hair in a bun, as pictured above. Since it is so long, it gets everywhere if I leave it down for too long, and I can keep is easily contained with a single hair stick. Plus, it's thin, and it gets tired of being down. Currently, my hair is past my hips by a good few inches (I've marked the waist so you can see it through the boyshirt):
When not wearing it in a proper bun, I'll usually braid or partially bun my hair. My braid comes to waist length and my hair doesn't break often anymore, so it's generally neat and obedient enough. For the partial bun, I twist my hair and then make just one or two coils, leave the long end trailing free like a ponytail, and secure with a hairstick. I'm fond to the style because, well, not many people can have a bun and a ponytail in one go, and it lets me show off my hair while still keeping it out of the way.
Scary, I know, but much as I try to be rid of it, I do indeed have a face. (And above, almost a smile! I rarely photograph that.)
