Ghost and Aaron: Master List | Next Update
So I'm caving a bit to indulge in a perfectly pointless Sims 3 picspam which will probably bore the pants off of the lot of you, since I assume most of you aren't playing. But the game has been keeping me amused for weeks now, and I am compelled to share such joy in the form of silly pictures and mini-stories. The straw that broke my back was the following event:
Because as established I have next to zero self-image (and there's currently no Sims 3 neko custom content), I have precious little interest in creating a selfsim. And yet:
Robert, he of the bleached hair, is a flirt and entirely inappropriate, and so after merely one conversation he set out to kiss: Ghost, of the white hair, a new boy in town and a romantic at heart. I was playing Ghost's household at the time, so all of this caught me entirely by surprisebut not unpleasantly so because I encourage the rampant spread of homoeroticism in my little town.

And on that note: there in the background is Wednesday, who is evil and humorless and generally not inclined to smile, looking on with the most peculiar expression. One might even say: intent. approving. freakish.
And so you see: all of my female sims are selfsims, or at least sisters of the heart. This isn't the first time this has happened, either. I've caught different boys kissing with a different girl smiling foolishly in the background, and it makes me laugh every time.

But then, Robert is a rock legend and easy on the eyes.
I guess I can't blame Ghost or, er, their audience.
Just when I thought Sims 3 was starting to grow boring, I finally pulled together a proper neighborhoodabout fifteen (and more to come) of my own Sims stretching the length of one streetand again it has come to life. I've started with a new household, and set in a neighborhood filled with sims with vivid personalities and better-than-Maxis appearances makes their story becomes that much more entertaining. And seeing the sims I'm not playing 'round town is like an easter egg every time. To whit:

Tomi caught playing in the sprinkler that I put in the park? Of course!
(That park-sprinkler idea was brill. Near everyone uses it, and the rest laugh at the folk in their swimsuits.)

Cowardly Mouse, on the verge of freaking out.
(I've yet to actually play her, but she is adorable to see out on the town.)

Dominic is the sort of flirt to put Robert to shamebecause he knows he's handsome enough to get away with it all.
(He's part of Tomi's household, and this shot is from when I was playing them.)
Before starting this newest household I was mostly playing Robert's, which includes a red-head crazy guy named Jacob who is blatantly inspired by Aikea Guinea's Jacoband while he is not quite as, er, incredible as hers, he amuses me.

And because Jacob is insane and I have no-clothes outfits ... well you see where that leads.
To gardening, in the nude. Of course.

Jacob demands answers from the powers that be.
The powers that be are busy taking photos.
But my newest household is my current favorite (of course): Aaron and Ghost. They're best friends and cousins who could pass as brothers who live in a cockroach-infested dive which once passed as a modern suburban dwelling. Aaron came together like a dream; Ghost required a touchup from Awesomemod's editsim feature, but it was worth it.

Aaron (Dar) is a slob and a klepto and beautiful tooand entirely entertaining. I'm half in love with him.

And he approves.
(Playing with the chaos painting mod, which while not perfect is quite wonderful.)

Don't let him borrow your bathroom.
When he says "borrow" he means "steal," and by "bathroom" he means "its ceiling light."

It's like he's invisible. Soon, that bench will be too.
I've played with the klepto trait before but no one has taken to it like Aaron. Without any intervention on my part he's already gathered a coffee table, tombstone, park bench, and three lights. We're building a little shrine to stolen goods among the brambles in the backyard. (And this klepto mod is a great help.) The bathroom ceiling light he nicked from one of my oldest sims, who not minutes before had changed into his striped burglar work outfit and left the house to go crack some safes.

Ghost (Richlen) ain't bad himself, though, even if it took a bit to get his eyes right.
Artistic, insubstantial, and sleep-deprived, he's the white to Aaron's black.

He's something more of an introvert but, as he exhibited with Robert, not entirely shy.

And for all that they never manage to keep the shower clean or food in the fridge, they make a sweet pair.
Of friends, I mean! But I'd not be surprised if it develops to more.
Bored yet?
I'm half tempted to put up Aaron and Ghost the way that I did Tomi, although both use a ton of custom content. If anyone's interested, just let me know. And goodness all, but Sims is crack. I can't even imagine how it must be for core Sims 2 players, with years's worth, a veritable cornucopia, of custom content to chosefrom. As this is my current obsession I've of course been watching CC evolve with the same eagle-eye I developed from my time in the SL fashion scene, and it's fascinating and cruelbecause the tools are developing so quickly, so many wonderful goods are already available, and yet ohsomuch is lacking and still to come.
So is anyone else playing Sims 3?
